Last Time at Regionals
November 11, 2022 | The Great Danes last competed at the 2022 NCAA Northeast Regional XC Championships, held at famed Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.  The women sent a contingent of seven competitors, led by Tess Fitzmaurice and Amanda Chambers earning top-80 finishes, while Alondra Cruz-Delgado finished just outside the top-100 at 101st.  Jared Rogalski was the only men's competitor, finishing 170th in the men's only 10K of the season.

October 13, 2023 | The Great Danes last competed at the 2022 NCAA Northeast Regional XC Championships, held at famed Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

All-Conference
By finishing third at the 2023 America East XC Championships, Amanda Chambers became UAlbany's first All-Conference First Team honoree since Hannah Reinhardt won the individual title in 2019.  Chambers improved on her 10th-place finish and Second Team All-Conference effort from last season, and recorded the ninth-fastest time for a Great Dane at the America East championship meet since 2008.

Replenishing
Both the men's and women's teams will need to replace their top performers from the 2022 season.  Brandon Garcia and Antonio Beltran, the men's top-two finishers at America East XC Championships a year ago, have graduated, leaving Jared Rogalski, the Great Danes' third runner last year, as the top returning men's performer.  The women will compete without two of their top three performers from 2022 in Tess Fitzmaurice, and Noreen Guilfoyle.  Amanda Chambers, UAlbany's second runner last season, is the women's top returner.

Schedule Note
Once again, the 2023 UAlbany cross country schedule does not include a home meet.  Traditionally held in the middle of October, the Great Danes will make a return visit to IC4A and ECAC XC Championships, which last year moved into October from its traditional spot in November.  The last time the cross country team hosted a home meet was during the 2021 season.

Next: Individual and team qualifiers will advance to the 2023 NCAA XC Championships on November 18 at the University of Virginia.
