Short Story: Heather Forster's double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds weren't enough for the University at Albany women's basketball team in a 69-60 setback to UMBC on Wednesday, at the Events Center in Baltimore, Md.

Heather Forster posted 16 points and 12 rebounds to pick up her fifth career double-double, while Kyara Frames and Khepera Stokes finished the contest in double-figures with 16 and 11 points, respectively.
UAlbany struggled offensively in the third quarter and were outscored 23-8. The Great Danes couldn't overcome the deficit, and the Retrievers never trailed after taking a 32-31 lead.
The Great Danes had a strong first half and began the game on an 8-0 run. UMBC would counter with an 8-3 run of their own but it was the visitors who carried a 13-11 advantage into the second quarter.
UAlbany grew its lead to as many as nine after nine consecutive points from Stokes gave her team the 25-16 edge. With 10 seconds on the clock, Frames picked the pocket of a UMBC guard before going coast-to-coast for a layup that put her team ahead 27-20 at the break.
In the third, the game saw its first tie score after a triple from Dominika Skrocka locked the game at 29-29. Skrocka hit another three-pointer on the next possession, sparking an 11-3 run. The Great Danes would head into the fourth quarter down 43-35.
The home team continued to fire on all cylinders in the fourth quarter. A jumper by Eryn Fisher gave UMBC its biggest lead of the game, 58-38, with 3:29 to play.
Frames picked up 12 of her 16 points in the final quarter as the Great Danes began to chip away at the Retrievers lead. The visitors would make it a three-possession game, 60-52, at 1:11 but failed to pull any closer, ultimately falling to their league foes 69-60.
