UALBANY FINISHES BEST-EVER A-EAST SEASON WITH 4-0 LOSS TO NEW HAMPSHIRE

     Albany, N.Y. - New Hampshire sophomore forward Sara Hourihan scored a goal and added two assists as the UAlbany women's soccer team was defeated by UNH, 4-0, in an America East Conference match at Varsity Field on Sunday, Oct. 22. The Great Danes finished their conference slate with their best America East record since joining the conference in 2001.
     Freshman forward Shaunna Kaplan scored the Wildcats' first goal at 26:49, with assists credited to Hourihan and sophomore forward Michelle Sheehan. Hourihan then doubled UNH's lead with six seconds remaining in the first half, putting home a left-side shot after a pass from senior midfielder Amanda Wiggins.
     The Wildcats added two second-half insurance goals, one on a header by Wiggins at 54:20 and one on a penalty kick by junior midfielder Caitlyn Serafine at 60:56. Senior goaltender Ashley Nuessle made three saves for UAlbany, while junior forward Uju Ogbuawa had four shots on goal. With the victory, New Hampshire (6-10-0, AE 4-4-0) finishes its season tied for fourth in the America East standings.
     UAlbany (5-12-1, AE 2-6-0) ends its America East schedule in eighth place. The Great Danes will play their final match of the season at Cornell on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
