Lindsey Hart

     Lindsey Hart enters her fifth season as head coach of the University at Albany women's lacrosse program. Hart steered the Great Danes to their third consecutive America East Conference postseason tournament appearance last spring. UAlbany established the program's Division I record with nine victories and registered its first winning campaign since 2000. The Great Danes defeated their first-ever national top-20 opponent.
     Hart coached two players last year who were named to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Northeast Region second team. UAlbany placed six student-athletes, the third-highest total among Division I lacrosse programs, on the IWLCA Academic squad.
     In 2008, UAlbany recorded eight wins for the third straight season despite playing six opponents ranked in the national top-20 poll.  Hart led the Great Danes to their first-ever appearance in the 2007 America East Conference championship final. The Great Danes finished with an 8-9 record against a schedule that featured three top-20 programs.
     UAlbany reached the .500 mark for the second time since the 2001 campaign in Hart's first season at the helm with an 8-8 mark. The Great Danes tied a single-season Division I record for victories. Hart served as a UAlbany assistant prior to her present appointment. She was an assistant at Ohio University in 2003.
     Hart brings a wealth of playing experience to her position. As a four-year member of Ohio's squad, she earned first-team All-American Lacrosse Conference honors twice and was named to the regional All-America squad in 2001 and 2002. The most prolific offensive player in school history, Hart amassed 180 goals and 236 points during her career with the Bobcats. Hart, an Academic All-American, was named the 2002 Ohio University Athlete of the Year.
     Hart captained Team Canada to a bronze medal for the first time in 27 years at the 2009 FIL World Cup (Federation of International Lacrosse) in Prague, Czech Republic. Canada defeated England, 14-9, in the bronze-medal match. She played on the Canadian National U-19 Women's Lacrosse Team that won a bronze medal at the World Cup in 1999. Additionally, she was a member of the 2001 and 2005 Canadian National Team.
     A native of Vineland, Ontario, Hart received a bachelor's degree in biology from Ohio University in 2003.
