Women’s Tennis Set to Visit No. 12 Seed Oklahoma State in NCAA First Round on May 13

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The reigning America East Champion University at Albany women’s tennis team (14-7) will face Oklahoma State (23-4) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament next Friday, May 13, the NCAA announced Monday evening. The match time is forthcoming against the No. 12-seeded Cowgirls, with the winner set to face Arkansas or Tulsa on Saturday.
The Great Danes women’s tennis squad makes its program debut in the Division I NCAA Tournament next week in Stillwater, Oklahoma as part of a regional round with Arkansas (16-3) and Tulsa (21-4). The Pokes will host all four teams for the single-elimination First & Second Rounds on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14.
The 2016 Big 12 Champion, Oklahoma State makes its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance against the Purple & Gold. The Cowgirls earned a bid to the Sweet 16 of the 64-team field one season ago, in their best all-time showing on the national stage. Oklahoma State has made 18 appearances in the big dance dating back to 1982.
