- To start set one, UAlbany and UCF went back-and-fourth exchanging points, but the Knights' 5-1 scoring run gave them a five-point lead in the first half, 15-10.
- UCF carried their scoring run into the second half as they jumped out to a 20-12 lead, and secured the win for set one.
- In similar fashion, kills from Pinar Erol and freshman Lily Lott helped the Great Danes go toe-to-toe with UCF early in set two.
