- Mina Benucci is the daughter of Leonardo Benucci and Shinobu Katada
- Has one younger brother, Marino
- Calls Zuzhi, Kanagawa, Japan home
- Intends to major in psychology
- Enjoys making stuff animals, character cakes, designing t-shirts, and other creative outlets
- Father, Leonardo, was a professional volleyball athlete in Italy
- Uncle, Lorenzo, competed as a swimmer for Georgia Tech

Why did you choose UAlbany?
Because I wanted to play Division I volleyball and they knew my strength. I felt like I could trust them. Also, I wanted to study psychology and UAlbany is strong for that.

Pickard on Benucci
Mina comes east from the College of Southern Idaho with great experience at a high level. She is quick off the ground and has a great court vision which will help our group of middles. She has an interesting background with her heritage and I’m excited to see how she develops in our system.
