SHORT STORY: A strong performance by Purdue led to a sweep over UAlbany, Thursday evening. 

KEY STATS

• Junior outside hitter Pinar Erol led the team in kills with nine. 
• Junior Mina Benucci earned a team-high two blocks, including a solo block.
• Senior setter Madison Hess recorded 18 assists.
• Junior libero Kasia Barletta put up 13 digs, followed by freshman defensive specialist Madison Kyle with 10. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In set one, the Boilermakers started the match strong with a 8-2 lead early on.
• The Great Danes worked to close the score gap, powered by a kill from Pinar Erol and junior Sabrina Kinkaid, but Purdue was the first to reach 15 points. 
• After the two teams exchanged points, Purdue found themselves on 4-0 run that secured their set one win, 25-17.
• The Boilermakers had another dominant start in set two with a seven-point lead over UAlbany, 15-7.
• A 9-2 scoring run from Purdue gave the Boilermakers a two match advantage over the Great Danes. 
• UAlbany refused to go down without a fight as the team went toe-to-toe with Purdue to start the third set.
• The Boilermakers scored four consecutive points for the advantage, 15-10.
• Kills by Erol, Mina Benucci, and Madison Hess helped the Great Danes cut the deficit in the second half, 17-15. 
• A 6-2 run from UAlbany made set three the closest set of the match, 23-21, but two kills from Purdue sealed the match win, 3-0.
