BALTIMORE – University at Albany senior Midfielder
Gracie McCauley has been named the AXIA Time Inside Lacrosse Women's Division I National Player of the Week for Week 13 of the season. She is the first player in program history to earn the honors.
The Award was voted upon by the public through the
ILWomen Instagram story fan vote, narrowly defeating Yale's Sky Carrasquillo, Navy's Emma Kennedy, and Denver's Olivia Ripple, en route to AXIA Time Women's DI Player of the Conference Tournaments honor!
McCauley earns national recognition, having a standout America East Tournament performance. Against Bryant in the finals, she recorded eight goals on 11 shots-on-goal and 12 shots, going a perfect 4-of-4 on her free position shots to guide UAlbany to a 14-10 victory over the No.1 seeded Bulldogs and the program's fourth America East Championship Title and fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The two-way standout midfielder also recorded one assist, while defensively she picked up two ground balls and one caused turnover. She finished the tournament with a total of nine goals and one assist, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
This season, the Moraga, California native recorded her 100
th career point while this seasons she's put up 37 points from 32 goals, five assists, two game-winning goals, 8-13 on free position shots, along with 27 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers.
The Great Danes will continue their chase towards the NCAA Championship when they take on Yale, Friday, May 9 at 1:00 pm in New Haven, CT at Reese Stadium on the campus of Yale University.
