ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women's lacrosse team has been selected to head to New Haven, CT. and take on the Yale Bulldogs in the First Round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Great Danes will take on Yale in Reese Stadium on Friday, May 9, with first draw set for 1:00 pm.
The winner of UAlbany and Yale will go on to face the winner of Brown vs Syracuse.
The Great Danes claimed the program's 4
th America East Championship on Sunday afternoon, taking down #1 Bryant on their own turf in Smithfield, R.I. They return to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years after winning the conference crown in 2023. This will be UAlbany's 5
th NCAA Tournament appearance, and second NCAA Appearance under Head Coach

UAlbany finished the 2025 regular season with an overall record of 9-9, going 4-2 in America East play. The Great Danes found themselves with a 3-8 record early in the year before rattling off a 6-2 record with five straight wins, including two in the America East Championship to end the season. The program took down No. 3 UMass Lowell in the conference Semifinals before defeating No. 1 seed and host Bryant, 14-10, in the Championship Game on Sunday afternoon.
Gracie McCauley led both teams with eight goals scored, breaking an America East Tournament Single-Game record in the Championship game. She added two ground balls and a caused turnover. She also allowed one goal in the Semifinals against The River Hawks, to finish with nine goals and one assist in two games. Joining her on the All-Championship Team were teammates

The Yale Bulldogs recently upset the No. 1 Seed Princeton Tigers in the Ivy League Tournament and hold a 14-3 overall record with a 5-2 conference record and are currently in the midst of a seven-game winning streak.
The Great Danes and the Bulldogs have met six times, dating back to 2016. UAlbany holds a 4-2 all-time advantage, with the most recent matchup coming in 2022.
