Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2026 Schedule

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women's lacrosse team and Head Coach Katie Thomson have officially announced the schedule for the 2026 season.

WLAX 2026 Schedule

"We are excited to share our 2026 schedule! This lineup will provide our team with opportunities to grow, learn, and compete at a high level," Said Head Coach Katie Thomson. "Our group has been working hard to prepare for this challenging slate of competition, and is eager to begin this new season together. "

The Great Danes are coming off two America East Championship wins in the last three years, claiming the conference trophy in 2023 and 2025.

UAlbany will host eight home games, seven at John Fallon Field this upcoming season, with the final game vs Bryant being played on Bob Ford Field at Casey Stadium. Home opponents include non-conference teams Syracuse, Boston College, Harvard, Wagner, and Niagara. Their America East home opponents include a rematch of the 2025 America East Championship game against Bryant, a 2025 America East Semifinals rematch against UMass Lowell, and Binghamton.

The Great Danes will face three teams throughout the season that made the 2025 NCAA Tournament: Syracuse, Boston College, and Stony Brook.

UAlbany begins the season on February 10 at Holy Cross before heading to Long Island to face longtime rivals Stony Brook, a former America East team that joined the CAA in 2023. In 2025, the Seawolves finished as CAA Champions and ranked No. 15 nationally.

The team then returns to Albany for its Home Opener on February 21, hosting Harvard, which finished the 2025 season ranked No. 25 nationally, in a rematch of last season's early game in Cambridge. UAlbany stays at John Fallon Field for one more game when they host Niagara, who qualified for the 2025 MAAC Tournament, on February 25.

Next, the team will hit the road for two games at UConn, which was nationally ranked most of the 2025 season, and Colgate, before returning home to host Wagner on March 11.

The first America East game of the 2026 schedule is on March 14 when UAlbany visits New Hampshire.

The Great Danes then kick off a four-game streak of game at home, featuring America East Opponents UMass Lowell and Binghamton, along with ACC powerhouses Syracuse and Boston College. The homestand begins on March 21 against UMass Lowell.

The Great Danes and River Hawks have met twice in the America East Semifinals over the past two seasons, with UAlbany claiming victory in both matchups. UAlbany avenged its 13-9 regular-season loss to UMass Lowell in 2025 by beating them 18-10 in the conference tournament to reach the championship game against Bryant, having also reached the 2024 final with a narrow 12-11 win over UML.

Next on March 24, UAlbany will welcome Syracuse, ranked No. 14 in 2025. UAlbany and Syracuse were in the same bracket to start the 2025 NCAA Tournament, where UAlbany lost 12-9 to hosts and seventh-seeded Yale in New Haven. Yale later beat Syracuse 9-8 in the next round before falling to Boston College in the quarterfinals.

On March 28, Binghamton visits UAlbany as the Bearcats and Great Danes have faced off in two key games over recent seasons: Binghamton beat UAlbany in the 2024 to claim the America East Championship, but UAlbany defeated them 19-9 in the final regular season game of 2025, ending the Bearcats' hopes of another postseason berth.

The final game of the homestand features Boston College on March 30. BC finished 2025 ranked No. 3 and has played in the NCAA Championship in seven consecutive years from 2017-2024, winning titles in 2021 and 2024. That streak ended in 2025 when the Eagles were defeated by Northwestern 12-11 in the NCAA Semifinals.

The last three games of the season are all America East matchups. On April 4, UAlbany visits UMBC before hosting Bryant on April 11 in a rematch of the 2025 America East Championship. UAlbany avenged its only other conference loss, defeating Bryant 14-10, last year in Smithfield, Rhode Island, to claim its fourth conference title.

The season wraps up with a road game in Burlington, Vermont, on April 18 to face the Catamounts, followed by a bye week.
