ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany Department of Athletics announced today that it will begin a national search for the next head coach of the Great Danes' football program.
 
Jared Ambrose will remain in his role as interim head coach through the conclusion of the 2025 season, which wraps up on Saturday when the Great Danes visit nationally ranked Monmouth.
 
"We are profoundly grateful to Jared for his leadership this season," said Director of Athletics Mark Benson. "Jared handled the season with professionalism and integrity. We are grateful to him and his staff for their passion and leadership in guiding our student-athletes."
 
The University will now begin a comprehensive national search to identify the next leader of the football program.
