Women’s Lacrosse Voted Second in 2025 America East Preseason Poll

BOSTON – Coming off their second straight America East Tournament finals appearance, the University at Albany women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the conference's annual preseason poll, voted on by all seven of the league's head coaches.
 
UAlbany finished with a total of 30 points and one of the conference's seven first-place votes. Defending America East Champions Binghamton came in as the preseason favorite with 36 points and six first-place votes. Behind UMass Lowell placed third with 25 points, followed by UMBC (23), Vermont (14), Bryant (13) and New Hampshire (6) rounded out the conference.

In addition, the America East has announced a Preseason All-Conference Team, which features four Great Danes. Grace McCauley was selected at midfield, Mackenzie Salentre for defense, Haley Phalines as the only draw control specialist and Grace Cincebox as the only goalie on the list.

UAlbany finished 2024 with a 5-1 mark in America East action, hosting for the third consecutive year as well as earning a spot in the America East Tournament Finals three years in a row. In 2022 UAlbany came up short 11-12 to Vermont before The Great Danes were crowned America East Champions in 2023, defeating Binghamton 14-13, prior to falling to the Bearcats in 2024 by a narrow score of 11-12 in the Tournament Finals.
