Men’s Basketball Travels to Binghamton

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's basketball team travels to state rival Binghamton for a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Bearcats. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm from the McDonough Sports Complex and will be broadcast on ESPN3 and ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team in Albany.

Leading the Pack

Scouting Binghamton
The Bearcats come into Saturday's matchup with an overall record of 10-13, having gone 6-4 in conference play. Binghamton most recently played New Hampshire on Wednesday night, stealing a narrow 66-64 road victory over the Wildcats. Before that, Binghamton fell to UMBC on the road, defeated Bryant at home, and lost to Vermont at home and Maine on the road.
  • Binghamton is averaging 68.2 points per game with opponents averaging 71.0.
  • The team is shooting 44.8% from the field, 29.3% from three, and 71.1% from the free throw line.

Last Time Against Binghamton
UAlbany last played Bryant on Jan. 19, a home matchup in which the Bearcats won by a score of 65-54. The Great Danes took a tied ballgame into the locker room at the half, but hot shooting from the Bearcats in the second half was too much to overcome. Binghamton shot 63.2% from the field in the second frame to build a comfortable lead early, not looking back. The Great Danes' offense was led by Jonathan Beagle, who finished with 17 points.
  • Beagle led the way for UAlbany with 17 points on 7-11 shooting. He had a team-high seven rebounds and two assists.
  • Malik Edmead, in his first game back since Dec. 28 against Virginia, finished with 13 points in 22 minutes of action.

Three men's basketball teams went unbeaten last week, the three teams currently at the top of the #AEHoops standings. Vermont won its lone game while UMass Lowell and Bryant each went 2-0.

  • Averaged a double-double of 15.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in leading Bryant to a 2-0 week.

  • Had 18 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in a win over Maine on Wednesday.
  • Followed up with 13 points and 10 boards vs. UNH on Saturday.

Rookie of the Week

  • Scored team-high 19 points and added six rebounds vs. Maine on Saturday.
  • Averaged 10.5 points and 4.0 rebounds for the week while shooting 62 percent from the floor (8-for-13).
  • This is Brown's second #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor of the season (12/19).
