Last Time Out
The UAlbany men's basketball team fell at home to Maine on Saturday night by a score of 72-68. Leading by as much as 13 points in the first half, a strong second half performance from Maine, pushed them towards victory. Freshman
Jonathan Beagle led the way for UAlbany, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists. The matchup was the first between the two opponents in the 2022-23.
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. and Aaron Reddish both finished with 14 points. Drumgoole Jr. led the team in assists (7) and steals (1), playing all 40 minutes. Reddish returned to the starting lineup and made impactful threes late in the game to keep UAlbany alive.
- Sarju Patel and Marcus Jackson each finished with 10 points. Patel went 4-7 from the field, finishing with three rebounds and an assist. Jackson led the team in rebounds with eight. Both players finished with a block.
- The Great Danes shot 52.0% (26-50) from the field and 38.9% (7-18) from beyond the arc. Maine shot 50.9% (28-55) from the field and 22.7% (5-22) from deep.

Scouting UMass Lowell
The River Hawks come into Saturday's matchup with an overall record of 17-6 and a 5-4 mark in conference play. UMass Lowell is coming off back-to-back losses against two of the conference's top teams in Maine and New Hampshire. On Saturday, UMass Lowell came up just short against New Hampshire by a score of 59-54. Allin Blunt, a freshman forward for the River Hawks, lead all scoring with 17 points on 46% shooting from the field in 38 minutes of play.
- UMass Lowell has two players averaging double-digit scoring numbers in the two-time AE player of the week Abdoul Karim Coulibaly (12.9) and Everette Hammond (12.7).
- Coulibaly also holds a team high 8.5 rebounds per game, followed by Max Brooks with 5.3 rebounds per game.

The University at Albany men's basketball team dominated from start to finish in an 89-63 win over UMass Lowell on Sunday afternoon. The win is the first conference victory for the Great Danes of the year. The team went 13-20 from beyond the arc en route to the victory.
Sarju Patel had a breakout game, leading all scorers with 23 points.
- Sarju Patel went 5-6 from beyond the arc and 8-12 overall from the field, finishing with a team-high 23 points.
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. wasn't far behind, also going 5-6 from deep and finishing with 22 points. He had a team-high six assists while also grabbing five rebounds and a steal.
- Jonathan Beagle finished with a double-double, dropping 17 points and nabbing 12 boards.
- Aaron Reddish had his second game in a row where he had a hot shooting had. The sophomore ended with 21 points on 6-9 shooting. He led the Great Danes with four steals.
- UAlbany shot 47.3% (26-55) from the field and 65.0% (13-20) from deep. UMass Lowell shot 43.4% (23-53) from the field and went just 3-15 from three.
- UAlbany won the rebounding war, 37-25.
- The Great Danes finished with just 10 turnovers; UMass Lowell had 13.

The #AEHoops season is halfway through, and the top of the standings are as tight as they've ever been. Six teams sit within two games of first place with the season at the midway point. Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire and NJIT all went unbeaten in league play last week.
- Vermont has run off four wins in a row to claim the top spot in the standings at 6-2. The Catamounts, who beat Binghamton and UMBC last week, are beating teams by an average of 17.0 points per game during their win streak.
- UNH is a game back at 5-3 after beating UAlbany and UMass Lowell last week. The Wildcats' Clarence Daniels is the only #AEHoops player averaging a double-double (15.5 ppg, 10.8 rpg).
- Winners of five of its last seven games, Binghamton also sits tied for second at 5-3.
- UMass Lowell, which is 5-4 in league play, has already surpassed the program's Division I record for wins in a season with 17.
- Maine beat UMass Lowell and UAlbany last week and has won three-straight #AEHoops games for the first time since the 2012-13 season.
- The Black Bears' Kellen Tynes leads the country averaging 3.1 steals per game.
Conference positioning will again prove key for the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs. Every round of the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs will take place on the higher seed's home court and earning home court advantage will prove crucial once again.
The league champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, where America East teams have won nine games all-time, including UMBC's historic upset of Virginia in 2018.
