Short Story: UAlbany track & field kicks off the 2022 outdoor season competing in three meets, taking away two event victories.
 
Spring Open

• Jamel Edwards placed second in the men's long jump in 22-00.25, matching his outdoor best.
• Bryan Nicholson won the men's discus in 161-01.00.
• Shiana Galette-Rowe placed sixth in the women's hammer in a personal-best 170-10.00; Lynn Gbadamosi placed 12th in 144-02.00.
• Cole Heintzelman placed fifth in the men's javelin in 167-02.00.

Spring Classic

• Shak Williams placed third in the men's 100m in 10.59; Lucas Casab placed sixth in a wind-aided 10.73, and Travis Williams placed 14th in 10.83.
• Imani Gray placed eighth in the women's 200m in a personal-best 24.46; Dee Denis placed 13th in 24.87.
• Yourry Tapande-Ngombe placed sixth in the men's 200m in a personal-best 21.62; S. Williams placed 14th in 21.86, matching his personal-best, T. Williams placed 17th in 22.04, Casab placed 19th in a personal-best 22.06.
• Gray placed fifth in the women's 400m in 57.39; Emily Brown placed eighth in 57.98.
• Nicardo Blake won the men's 400m in a personal-best 47.44; Tapande-Ngombe placed fourth in a personal-best 48.17.
• Antwone Messado placed fourth in the men's 110m hurdles in 14.33.
• Denis placed second in the women's 400m hurdles in 1:03.03.
• Easton Reagan placed second in the men's 400m hurdles in a personal-best 53.13.
• The men's 4x100m relay team of Casab, S. Williams, T. Williams, and Tapande-Ngombe placed fourth in 40.75.

Black & Gold

• Dominique Clarke placed 16th in the women's 100m in 11.85; Brynley McDermott placed 20th in 12.00, and Adaliz Hunt placed 38th in 12.39.
• Clarke placed 19th in the women's 200m in an outdoor-best 24.25; Rori Lowe placed 22nd in a wind-aided 24.34, McDermott placed 35th in a personal-best 24.64, and Hunt placed 95th in 27.13.
• Lowe placed ninth in the women's 400m in a personal-best 56.49.
• The women's 4x100m relay team of Hunt, Clarke, Lowe, and McDermott placed fifth in 46.46.
• Marcus McFadden placed 20th in the men's long jump in 21-11.75.
• Rebeca Valerie Barrientos Alpha placed 13th in the women's triple jump in 38-04.75.
• Robert Blue won the men's triple jump in 50-11.00.
• Shania Scott placed 15th in the women's shot put in 43-10.75; Shelby Bigsby placed 17th in 43-01.00.
• Scott placed 12th in the women's discus in 145-06.00; Bigsby placed 27th in 121-06.00.
• Travis Robinson placed seventh in the men's discus in 175-00.00.

Meet Notes

• UAlbany volunteer assistant coach Jan Michael Gutierrez Almedina placed third in the men's 300m at the Spring Classic in 33.89, and third in the men's 600m in 1:17.87.
• UAlbany alumna and 2016 Olympian Grace Claxton won the women's 400m hurdles at the Spring Classic in 57.52, and placed second in the 400m in 53.94.
