Gattuso
UNH is always a tough, hard team to play against. We’ve had some great battles, some very close football games, and I don’t expect anything different. I hope that our fans are going to continue to come out and support us – we need them. This is the type of game where a great home crowd can really put you over the top.

Leading the Pack

  • UAlbany is finding more success through the air than their opponents, with the Great Danes totaling 1679 yards through the air this year compared to 1282 from their foes.
  • The second quarter of games is where UAlbany has struggled most thus far. Opponents have scored 79 points in the second quarter, compared to just 23 from UAlbany. The fourth quarter has been the best for the Great Danes, outscoring opponents 53-51.
  • Jackson Ambush leads the team with 72 tackles, 32 unassisted. That mark puts him fourth in the entire conference. Danny Damico trails him with 59 tackles (31 unassisted) which puts him 10th in the CAA.
  • Jared Verse’s 7.5 sacks on the year are second in the conference only to W&M’s Nate Lynn (10.5)
  • Karl Mofor sits seventh in the CAA in all-purpose yards with 93.63 per game. He is averaging 73.3 yards on the ground and 21.3 though the air. His rushing numbers place him fifth in the conference.
  • Jeff Undercuffler is posting a line of 107-198-6, totaling 1296 yards along with four TDs.
  • Roy Alexander leads the Great Danes in both receptions (25) and reception yards (428). He has two receiving TDs on the year, one coming just last week.

Scouting UNH

The Wildcats sit at 3-5 overall mark on the season, going 2-3 in conference play. The team’s wins have come against Stony Brook (27-21), Towson (26-14), and Lafayette (19-13). All three of those games came at the beginning of the season for UNH, shooting them out to a quick 3-0 start. Since that time, the Wildcats have gone 0-5 with losses to Pitt (7-77), JMU (21-23), Dartmouth (21-38), Elon (10-24), and most recently, Richmond (21-35). The Wildcats took a 21-17 lead into the fourth quarter in last Saturday’s game, but couldn’t hold on. The Spiders would end up scoring a pair of TDs and a FG in the final frame to secure the win. Stat leaders for UNH were Brian Espanet (3 rec, 33 yds, TD), Carlos Washington Jr. (3 rec, 51 yds), Tyler Dressler (15 tackles), and Tristan Wheeler (11 tackles).

Last Time Against UNH

The series between the Great Danes and the Wildcats is all knotted up at four wins apiece for each team. The most recent matchup was one for the ages, coming this past March when No. 13 UAlbany took down No. 14 UNH by a score of 24-20.  Jeff Undercuffler threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns while Karl Mofor ran for 85 yards and added a receiving touchdown. Tyler Oedekoven and Mike Gray combined for 17 receptions and over 150 yards, both each being on the receiving end of a touchdown. However, it was the defense that stood tall to seal the game. New Hampshire was able to drive the ball to the Albany 17-yard line, but failed to convert on fourth down prior to the two-minute warning. The Wildcats regained possession on Albany's seven-yard line, but the defense again stood its ground to close out the game.
