PHILADELPHIA – With the bulk of competition concluded over the course of the first two days, the University at Albany outdoor track program fielded competitors in a handful of final and championship events on Saturday, Day Three of the Penn Relays.

The Danes had two individuals competing on Saturday.  Alexander Bowen took second place in the championship high jump, with a mark of 7'-2.25”.  The jump is his best of the season, and was tied with the mark of the champion, Maalik Reynolds from the host institution, the University of Pennsylvania.  Bowen placed second due to prior missed attempts.  In the men's championship pole vault, Alfonso Scannapieco placed third overall with a mark of 16'-6.75”, matching his best mark of the season from the Texas Relays last month.

Four relay teams ran for UAlbany on the final day of competition.  The men's 4x100 and 4x200 relays qualified for the IC4A finals section.  The 4x100, consisting of Robert Harris III, Jaymen Teemer, Winston McCormack Jr., and Jonathan Santana placed fifth with a time of 40.98, just over three tenths of a second behind winner Cornell, who finished in 40.64.  The 4x200 team of Kareem Morris, McCormack Jr., Teemer, and Santana placed fourth in 1:25.77, narrowly missing the school record of 1:25.43.

Finally, UAlbany wrapped overall competition running a men's and a women's 4x800 relay.  The men's team of Larry Ramirez, John DeLallo, Dylan Lowry, and Andrew Pirnie placed fourth in the college section with a time of 7:31.55.  Ramirez split 1:53.64, DeLallo split 1:50.37, Lowry split 1:51.81, and Pirnie split 1:55.74.  The women's team of Brianne Bellon, Dominique Claudio, Breanna Cummings, and Kathryn Fanning, also competing in the college section, placed second overall behind Cornell, running 8:51.90.  Bellon split 2:12.58, Claudio split 2:14.42, Cummings split 2:15.98, and Fanning split 2:08.93.  According to the results provided by the Penn Relays, Fanning ran the fastest leg of anyone in her race.
