“I think we came out tentative,” said head coach John Battaglino. “We've been moving the ball well in practice, so once we got comfortable we were able to recover our confidence we shared the ball and got everyone involved.”

Four different Great Danes scored the first four UAlbany goals, including Rachel Bowles, Ariana Parker, Katherine Sweeney and Dakotah Savitcheff. Nichole Eamer, Parker and Savitcheff also picked up assists in the Purple & Gold's opening run.

Eight different UAlbany players scored. Bowles lead all scorers with four goals. Parker, Phelan and Savitcheff notched three apiece, while Sweeney, Obenshain, Eamer and Keggins each scored one goal.
