Durham, N.H.- Junior attack Rachel Burek leads Women's Lacrosse with four goals in a crucial America East contest over New Hampshire, 9-8, on Saturday, April 14. Ariana Parker would helped in the winning cause with three points (two goals, one assit) as well in the victory. UAlbany improves to 2-2 in the America East and is tied with UMBC for the fourth and final spot, while New Hampshire falls to 1-3 in conference play.
UAlbany (9-4, 2-2 AE) opened up the game with an early 3-0 lead through the first 10 minutes of play. Brianna Day, Eamer and Burek would all tally one goal during the run.
New Hampshire (3-9, 1-3 AE) would respond back with three quick goals of its own to tie the game at three. Kate Keagins and Jenny Simpson would score their 19th goals of the season during the stretch.
The Great Danes would end the half on a 4-1 run to go up 7-4 at the half. Parker would record two goals to grab the lead.
The Wildcats would claw its way back to 8-7 with a 3-1 run of its own with 10:23 remaining in the game. Keagins would record her hat rick of the game to cap the run.
UAlbany's Amanda Pollock would score what would be the crucial insurance goal at 8:27 remaining the game, as UNH's Keagins would score her fourth goal with 11 seconds remaining in the game to cut the deficit to one but would not score another.
UAlbany looks to its senior day on Saturday, April 21 against Stony Brook at John Fallon Field.
