CAPITAL REGION DERBY!

The Great Danes return home Tuesday for the Capital Region Derby against Siena at Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. UAlbany enters the matchup at 2-1-0 after earning its second straight victory with a 1-0 win at Dartmouth on Sept. 4. Ivar Gissurarson scored the lone goal against the Big Green, while Alexander Genz recorded his second consecutive clean sheet. The Great Danes have now posted back-to-back shutouts and will look to continue that run in their first meeting with Siena of the 2026 season.

Siena enters Tuesday at 1-2-1 after falling to FDU, 4-1, on Sept. 3. The Saints opened the season with a 3-1 win at NJIT and played Northeastern to a 3-3 draw. In 2025 Siena won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference [Now Metro Conference] championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

UAlbany holds a 7-6-2 all-time record against Siena. The teams played to a scoreless draw in last year's Capital Region Derby, with the Great Danes looking to snap a two-match winless streak against the Saints.
