HOW IT HAPPENED
- Opening set one, UAlbany and Syracuse were neck-and-neck, but Syracuse found themselves taking a four-point lead at 17-13.
- The Great Danes started to cut the deficit against the Orange at 23-20, but Syracuse kept their lead to win set one, 25-20.
- Moving into the second set, the Great Danes took an early two-point lead, 6-4, and continued to hold the lead at 12-10.
- Syracuse responded and went on a four-point run and took the advantage, 14-12, before finishing strong, 25-15.
- For the first half of the third set, the Great Danes and the Orange were once again toe-to-toe with Syracuse just ahead, 9-8.
- The Orange earned six consecutive points to go out in front at 15-8.
- UAlbany went on a 5-1 scoring run with kills from Pinar Erol, junior Sabrina Kinkaid, and Mina Benucci but a final point for Syracuse sealed the set, 25-20, and the match, 3-0.
