- UMass scored quickly following the break to take a 2-0 advantage.
- About a minute later, the Minutewomen earned a penalty corner in which Mathilda Prada recorded a defensive save to halt a larger lead.
- Massachusetts would go on to total just six shots, with one additional goal, in the third quarter as UAlbany held the team out of the circle for much of their possession time.
- The Great Danes fought back in the fourth seeing a higher time of possession but were unable to take advantage of the opportunities they created and fell to UMass, 3-0.
- Despite the loss, UAlbany anchored the pitch, successfully containing the Minutewomen's overall scoring volume and limiting clean looks inside the circle through all four quarters.
