HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rutgers started the scoring early just five minutes into the contest but UAlbany was quick to respond with a penalty-corner goal less than two minutes later. Receiving the insert, Pilar Lorenzini sent a short pass to Quinty Reumer for the score.
- Before the end of the first quarter, the Scarlet Knights gained the advantage with a second goal.
- The second quarter repeated the first with two Rutgers goals and one from UAlbany making it a 4-2 game at halftime.
- Less than a minute after the Scarlet Knights scored their third goal, Mara Küskes tipped in a direct shot from Jette Kurz during the Great Danes' second penalty corner of the contest.
- Following a green card assessed to UAlbany with just over a minute remaining in the second quarter, Rutgers capitalized immediately on the man-up play to head into the second half up two.
- After holding off the Scarlet Knights for 11 minutes in the third, UAlbany allowed a goal in the 12th minute of the quarter.
- Rutgers added two more goals before the end of the third to go up, 7-2.
- Both teams traded possession throughout the fourth quarter but the score remained and the Scarlet Knights took home the win.
