Finish: 5th Place – FULL RESULTS
 
Location: Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell GC in Lewisburg, Pa.
 
Short Story: The University at Albany women's golf team wrapped up their first tournament of the 2026 fall season on Sunday afternoon, finishing in fifth place at the Bucknell Invitational.
 
The Freshman, Sydney Fuke, led the team on day one after shooting a 72 (+2) in her very first round of collegiate golf. She was followed by Calie Taylor (+5), Nicole Criscone (+6), and Jasmine Furstenburg (+6). The team sat in fifth place overall at +19.
 
Day two saw the emergence of Mia Cepeda, who shot a 73 (+3), and Madison Kuratani, who shot a 74 (+4). Fuke kept her team lead after shooting +6, in 12^th place overall. As a team, the Great Danes slipped back to sixth.  
 
Day three was led by a stellar final-round even-par 70 from Mia Cepeda and a 1-over (71) from Callie Taylor, the Great Danes secured sixth place to open the fall slate. Cepeda paced UAlbany on the individual leaderboard, finishing tied for 16th at +12 overall following rounds of 79, 73, and 70.


Head Coach Colleen Cashman: "Going into the start of the season, you never know the correct starting line-up. We arrived at Bucknell after four rounds of qualifying with our top six players. While the overall scores weren't what we were hoping for, everyone had at least one, if not more, bright spots this week. It was nice to see Mia improve her scores every day and lead the way, and it was definitely a solid start to Sydney's freshman season. What we need to work on is narrowing the gap in scores from the first to the sixth player. The bright spot of today's round was getting off to a consistent, solid start, which we didn't do in either of the first two rounds. Overall, it's good to have one tournament under our belts and get a sense of where everyone is at mentally and physically, and I think everyone will definitely be excited to play our Crosstown Challenge on Friday!"
