HOW IT HAPPENED
- Columbia took possession quick and got off their first shot within the first minute of the contest.
- The Lions earned an early lead with a penalty stroke goal 10 minutes after the first whistle.
- After a scoreless second quarter that saw just three shots - one for Columbia and two for UAlbany - the Great Danes looked to fight back in the second half.
- During their second corner of the quarter, Pilar Lorenzini took a direct shot from the top to score the game-tying goal with just over two minutes remaining in the third. Jette Kurz (stick-stop) and Mara Küskes (insert) assisted on the penalty-corner goal.
- In a midfield contest, neither team was able to get a shot in the final 11 minutes of the game to force an overtime period.
- The Lions took advantage of a UAlbany green card to score a man-up goal and win the game, 2-1, in overtime.
