ALBANY, N.Y. - UAlbany field hockey's
Quinty Reumer and
Mara Küskes have been honored by the America East, announced Tuesday.
Freshman
Quinty Reumer was named the Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week while senior
Mara Küskes earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In her first weekend of collegiate hockey, Reumer totaled two goals and one assist for five points. To help lift her team to victory against Boston College on Sunday (Aug. 30), she scored the game-winning goal during a penalty corner with less than a minute remaining in the game after assisting on the game-tying goal just a few minutes prior.
Küskes continued to shine on defense with a spark to open her senior season. A native of Mönchengladbach, Germany, she helped in the win over Boston College with two defensive saves. In the season-opening contest, Küskes was a member of a defense that allowed just one goal. She also scored a goal and earned an assist in a 2-0 weekend.
The Great Danes will return to action at Colgate on Friday (Sept. 4).
