HOME OPENER!

The UAlbany softball team returns home this week for their first home games of 2026. The Great Danes are coming off a split doubleheader against Syracuse, which included a nine-inning victory. Two freshmen lead the team at the plate - Katie Parisi owns a team-high .429 batting average with 15 hits, including eight doubles, in 11 games. Pitcher Julia Pike follows having earned a .333 batting average from six hits in six games. Sophomore Mary Kate Murray leads with three home runs and nine RBI. In the circle, Hayley Wieczerzak (3-1) currently boasts a 1.22 ERA with 34.1 innings pitched, including three complete games, and 42 strikeouts while allowing just six earned runs.

Siena enters Wednesday's contest after going 1-2 in their first conference series against  Sacred Heart, Emma Peterson leads the Saints at the plate with a .354 batting average which includes three home runs and 11 RBI. In the circle, Violet Marta has gone 4-5 for the Saints, with a 2.78 ERA and 11 strikeouts.

TUCKER OUT LYMPHOMA!

UAlbany women's lacrosse (4-2, 0-0 America East) is off to its best start since 2021. The Great Danes return home on Wednesday, March 11 for a 3:00 p.m. matchup against the Wagner Seahawks (0-5, 0-0 NEC). UAlbany is coming off a 16-13 win over Colgate, where sophomore Ravan Marsell recorded five goals and two assists while also leading the team with five draw controls. Freshman Mya Carroll added three goals and one assist, matching Marsell with five draw controls. In net, Grace Cincebox (4-2) made nine saves on 22 shots on goal across 60 minutes of action.

Wagner enters the matchup having been outscored 82-17 and outshot 156-71 through five games. Amelia Logan leads the Seahawks with seven goals and one assist, while Alex Wright paces the team with 15 draw controls. The Seahawks have used three different goalkeepers this season. Grace DeCarolis (0-3) has made three starts across four appearances, allowing 54 goals while recording 26 saves for a 17.22 goals-against average and a .325 save percentage.

CONFERENCE OPENER!

The UAlbany men's lacrosse team will travel to take on the Georgetown Hoyas on Tuesday, March 10 prior to returning home for their first conference matchup of the season with the Bryant Bulldogs. The Great Danes are coming off a strong 14-10 over the Hobart Statesmen, where Koleton Marquis and Silas Richmond shined on offense. Marquis tallied five points from four goals and an assist, while Richmond recorded seven points from three goals and four assists. Richmond was also awarded the America East Player of the Week title for his efforts. Going into their Tuesday matchup, Richmond currently leads the team offensively with 26 points from 12 goals and 14 assists. The net has belonged to Brady Smith, who has played all but 13 minutes this season, where he has recorded 35 saves thus far. UAlbany look to carry their momentum from last week into this week's matchups. 

The Bryant Bulldogs enter Saturday's contest off an 11-7 win against St. John's. The Bulldogs are currently 2-3 after dropping their first two matchups of the season. Zac Amend currently leads the team with 18 points from ten goals and eight assists. James Carr has been the main man in net for Bryant and has started all five of their games, and recorded 63 saves this season. 

Bryant leads the all-time series between these two teams, 6-3.
