SEASON OPENER!

The back-to-back America East champion Great Danes return to Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium this Saturday to host #4 Cornell in a highly anticipated 2026 home opener. Coming off a season that saw them capture their 11th conference title and advance in the NCAA Tournament, UAlbany enters the year as the preseason favorite to three-peat in the America East. The matchup serves as a marquee rematch of last year's NCAA First Round game, where the Great Danes fell to the Big Red in Ithaca, providing Scott Marr’s squad an immediate opportunity for redemption on their home turf.

UAlbany’s high-powered offense is led by a duo of talent: reigning America East Offensive Player of the Year Silas Richmond and standout attacker Ryan Doherty. Richmond, who led the league with 89 points last season, joins Doherty (45 goals in 2025) to form one of the most lethal scoring threats in the nation. Defensively, the Danes are anchored by the reigning America East Defensive Player of the Year, Max Neeson, who led the conference in caused turnovers a year ago. With five preseason All-Conference selections on the roster, the Great Danes are primed to test their championship mettle against one of the top-ranked programs in the country.

The UAlbany women's basketball team hosted UMass Lowell at Broadview Center in Albany, New York on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

Defensively, UAlbany has limited opponents to 55.1 points per game and holds a +2.7 rebounding margin.

Binghamton enters at 17-6 overall and 9-1 in conference play, averaging 68.4 points per game. The Bearcats are powered by Bella Pucci and Kendall Bennett, who combine for more than 30 points per outing, and bring one of the league’s top offenses into the contest.
