- To start set one, UAlbany and NJIT went back-and-fourth early, but a solo block by Campbell Robinson gave the Great Danes a two-point lead, 15-13.
- A kill from Pinar Erol powered UAlbany to go on a 8-2 run to start the second half.
- After scoring four consecutive points, the Great Danes took set one, 25-15.
- In similar fashion, the Highlanders and UAlbany went toe-to-toe in set two, but NJIT were the first to reach 15 points.
- With a 7-2 run, the Highlanders increased their advantage to five points over the Great Danes in the second half, 20-15.
- UAlbany refused to go down without a fight as they went on a four-point scoring run to cut the deficit to two-points, but NJIT won set two, 25-21.
