BOSTON, Mass. – UAlbany volleyball's
Maria Olga Siapani has been named the America East Setter of the Week, and
Brooke Malek has been named the America East Defensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday.
Siapani steered the attack at the Boston College Invitational with 86 assists in 10 sets, an average of 8.60 per set, while adding 20 digs and two aces. Her weekend featured 49 assists and two aces against the host and 31 assists with 13 digs against Dartmouth.
Malek anchored the back row with 52 digs across 11 sets for 4.73 per set and finished the tournament with a .984 reception percentage on 63 chances, including 19 digs versus Dartmouth, 13 against Sacramento State, and 20 at Boston College.
