HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Wagner started the scoring towards the end of the first quarter during a penalty corner.
  • Less than a minute later, a shot from graduate student Indy van Ek gave the Great Danes a chance to tie the score with 30 seconds remaining in the quarter but the Seahawks' goalie made the save.
  • After a scoreless second quarter, UAlbany came out of the halftime break with renewed energy.
  • With 3:20 on the clock, Pilar Lorenzini scored during a penalty corner. Taking a direct shot from the top of the circle, she had a stick-stop assist from Olivia Bell and an insert from Mara Küskes.
  • Less than three minutes later, Tessa Overgoor and Jette Kurz combined for the go-ahead goal.
  • Just three minutes into the fourth quarter, and less than seven minutes after their first goal, the Great Danes scored what proved to be the final goal of the night during a penalty corner. After two shots saved by the goalie, Bell collected the ball and aimed her pass for the corner of the net where Indy van Ek redirected the ball past the defender and into the goal.
