Baseball Readies for Crosstown Matchup

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany baseball team will travel to Loudonville, NY, to face off against Siena in a midweek game. The game is set to start Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.

  • Ryan Ferremi is leading the Danes' offense, topping the leader board in doubles, RBIs, SLG%, walks, hits, OPS and OB%.
  • Logan Morris has also been a key contributor early in his freshman campaign, leading the team with a .344 batting average.
  • Dylan Banner leads the pitching staff with a 3-1 record, and through 41.1 innings has a 3.70 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 27 strikeouts.

  • The Great Danes played their second conference series this past weekend against Binghamton, going one and two.
  • On Saturday (3/29), Thomas Quinn and Alex Enea held Binghamton to four runs, leading the Danes to a win.
  • Michael Maggio helped secure the win on Saturday going three for four with two RBIs.
  • As a team, the Danes are hitting .262 with a .389 OB% and a .366 SLG%.
  • On the mound, UAlbany has an 8.30 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 135 strikeouts through 183.1 innings.
 Scouting Siena 
  • The Saints have started their season 6-19 after going one and two against Sacred Heart this past weekend.
  • Siena is led offensively by Aidan Paradine and Jake Sparks. In 78 at bats Paradine is hitting .333, with a 934 OPS, 26 hits, and six doubles. Sparks is hitting .292 in 96 at bats, with seven doubles and a team leading six homers.
  • On the mound Siena is led by Allistair Morin. Morin has a 2.55 ERA through 35.1 innings pitched.
  • Overall, the Saints are hitting .236 with 12 homers, and through 205.2 innings pitched have a 7.88 ERA with 160 strikeouts.
Captains 

Dylan BannerRyan Ferremi and Matthew Mariano will serve as captains for the Great Danes during the 2025 season. Banner, a junior right-handed pitcher throughout his career, holds a career ERA of 4.31 over 64.2 innings. Prior to the season, Banner was named a Preseason All-Conference selection. Ferremi, a senior infielder has a career average of .256 with 55 hits and 10 doubles. Mariano, a Redshirt Junior right-handed pitcher from Clifton Park, N.Y., has a career 7.80 ERA through 25 appearances. 
 
2025 America East Preseason Poll 
  • UAlbany was picked to finish seventh in the 2025 America East Preseason Poll, earning seven points. 
  • Bryant was picked to finish first in the conference with 35 points, including five first-place votes. 
  • Binghamton, followed closely behind with 30 points and two first-place votes. 
  • Maine (21) placed third, NJIT (21) fourth, and UMass Lowell (18) fifth. 
  • UMBC (15) and UAlbany rounded out the poll.
