GREAT DANE REWIND
  • The Great Danes opened up the 2025 season participating in the Charlotte Invitational hosted by Charlotte. 
  • Three players finished the weekend batting over .300 - freshman Charlotte Lomb, redshirt-senior Victoria Vilarchao, and junior Deanna Grahek. Both Lomb and Vilarchao tallied four hits each with Vilarchao slugging two doubles.
  • A pair of freshmen, Hailey Errrichiello and Hayley Wieczerzak, made their collegiate debut in the circle. They totaled 12.1 innings pitched between the duo. 
  • In 2024, UAlbany finished with an America East title and a run to the NCAA Tournament.
  • Going 14-6 in conference play, the Great Danes were Co-Regular Season Champions and entered the AE Tournament as the first seed. 
  • Five active players (2 PA/G & 75% games played or 1 IP/G for pitchers) graduated in 2024. The highly-decorated class included Wendi Hammond (2024 AE Pitcher of the Year), Morgan Petty (2023 AE Player of the Year), Maddi Petrella (2024 First Team All-Conference), Jordan Nastos (2x All-Conference), and Caitlyn Mitros (3x All-Conference). They made up the starting outfielders, catcher, and one of two starting pitchers.
  • The starting infielders and DP as well as a deep bench return from the 2024 champion team.
  • Returning freshman batting leader, Mary Kate Murray, and starting pitcher, redshirt-senior Kate Powers were named to the first ever America East Preseason All-Conference Team.
 
ABOUT BELLARMINE
  • The Knights opened their 2025 season in the CSU Kickoff Tournament hosted by Charleston Southern (Feb. 7-9).
  • They finished the tournament 1-4 with their sole win coming against the host, Charleston Southern, 4-3, on Feb. 7.
  • The Knights are led offensively by seniors Harlie Bickett and Megan Konermann. Both are hitting .333 while Bickett has three doubles and Konermann has slugged a team leading two home runs. 
  • In the circle, graduate student Kelsie Houchens has pitched two strikeouts in 8.1 innings, including one complete game. Sophomore Selena Zuniga has struck out five batters over 14 innings.
 
ABOUT BETHUNE-COOKMAN
  • The Wildcats have competed in 17 contests with three games against top 25 opponents including #5 Tennessee (2/7), #19 Nebraska (2/7), and #24 Mississippi State (2/8). 
  • They have posted a 4-13 record with wins coming against Morgan State (2/8), Wofford (2/14), Fairfield (2/15), and Stetson (2/15).
  • BCU is led in the circle by senior Haylne Gonzalez and sophomore Sofia Vallejos-Coleman. Gonzalez has logged 27 strikeouts in 60.2 innings pitched for the Knights while Vallejos-Coleman has pitched to a 4.54 ERA over 24.2 innings.
  • At the plate, freshman India Stokes is batting .333 after making seven starts. Junior Emma Bradley-Tse has a team-leading 16 hits while batting .302.
  • Redshirt-seniors Kendall Macauley and Briana Velazquez lead with one home run each.
 
ABOUT BUTLER
  • The Bulldogs have started the 2025 campaign with an 8-1 record after participating in the Rosemont Dome Tournament (2/7-9) in Rosemont, Illinois and the Velvet Milkman Classic (2/23-24) hosted by Murray State.
  • With two batters over .400 - junior Cate Lehner (.486) and junior Hailey Conger (.414) - the team is batting an average .342 to rank 18th in the nation.
  • Sophomore Makena Alexander and senior Ella White are providing the power with four home runs each. Alexander has an OPS of 1.449 while White has posted an OPS of 1.308.
  • In the circle, the Bulldogs are led by junior Rylyn Dyer and freshman Gwen Baker. Dyer has posted an ERA of 3.37 over 18.2 innings pitched while Baker has pitched to a 3.44 ERA over 18.1 innings. Combined, they have struck out 26 batters.

  • The Great Danes were picked to finish first in the 2025 America East Preseason Coaches' Poll
  • UAlbany earned 23 points with three first-place votes.
  • Binghamton was close behind UAlbany with 22 points and two first-place votes.
  • Kate Powers and Mary Kate Murray made the first-ever preseason all-conference team.
