Short Story: The University at Albany Men's Basketball recorded it's sixth straight home win against NJIT on Saturday, defeating the Highlanders 68-62.
Coach Dwayne Killings: "A great, great win for us…We found a way to win it on a day where I think it was very easy to see how hard it will be to win games, like some of the outcomes of some games within the league, and we're still in it."
Key Stats:
- Five Great Danes scored double-digit points, Amir Lindsey leading the pack with 15 in 26 minutes of play.
- Kacper Klaczek recorded a team-high four assists and eight rebounds.
- Justin Neely and Amir Lindsey each had a perfect free-throw record, Neely 5-5 and Lindsey 2-2.

- The Great Danes went 21-49 (42.9%) from the field, 5-17 (29.4%) beyond the arc, and 21-28 (75%) from the field.
How it Happened:
- UAlbany kicked off the game with a six-point run, with field goals from Justin Neely, Amar'e Marshall, and DeMarr Langford Jr. to make it 6-0 UAlbany at the 17:41 mark.
- NJIT responded with a 12-point run to take the lead 12-6 with 13:11 remaining in the first
- Byron Joshua led a five-point run, scoring three of five, to cut the Highlander's lead to 11-12 near halfway through the first.
- Amir Lindsey briefly took the lead back for the Great Danes, hitting a three-pointer that put UAlbany on top 14-13 as 9:42 remained on the clock.
- At 7:46 the Highlanders went on a short four-point run that was quickly put to rest at 5:57 by an eight-point run by the Great Danes, led by another big go ahead three from Lindsey, putting them up once more 22-17 just over four minutes to play in the first.
- After a three-pointer for NJIT, UAlbany answered with an eight-point run of its own, highlighted by four points from Langford Jr. extending its lead, 30-22
- The Highlanders recorded the last points of the first half with a four-point run, ending on a score of 30-26 in favor of the Great Danes.
- Kicking off the second half both teams exchanged points back and forth for the first five minutes with UAlbany putting up eight on the board, six coming from Marshal following huge back-to-back corner three's, giving the Great Danes a 43-32 lead.
- The Highlanders then went on an 11-point run to take back the lead 45-42 at 10:28.
- Neely recorded a layup followed by two successful free throws at the line to help The Great Danes go back out in front 47-45 with nearly nine minutes left in the game.
- down 49-47, Lindsey recorded another huge three to give the Great Danes the lead 50-49 as 7:33 remained.
- The final lead change of the game occurred as Byron Joshua hit a jumper to put UAlbany ahead 52-51 and sparking a 7-0 run by the Purple and Gold as the Great Danes led 57-51 with 3:31 to play.
- in the closing 0:32 of the game, UAlbany went 9-10 on free throws, Joshua going 5-6, to solidify a 68-62 win for the Great Danes.
