COACH JOSH PICKARD: "This was a good opening day. The team has worked hard on our side of the net and I saw a lot of flashes of that today. We played together and really worked hard for the person next to us. Our goal is to stack good on top of good and we saw that today."

- Despite North Dakota State's efforts to overtake the Purple and Gold, UAlbany pulled ahead to win the first set, 25-21.
- The Great Danes earned an early 6-4 lead before NDSU grabbed a 7-1 scoring run for a 13-9 advantage.
- After trading points back and forth, UAlbany pulled ahead at the end of the set with five consecutive points to win, 25-23.
- Continuing their strong competition, the Great Danes jumped ahead in the third set, 12-8.
- After the Bison tied the set at 12, UAlbany put together five straight points with Shynelle Woroniuk serving.

HOW IT HAPPENED
