GREAT DANE REWIND
- UAlbany started the season at NC State's Wolfpack Classic. Tallying one win in two games over Iona, the Great Danes fell in both games against the ACC host.
- Continuing the season at the annual Spring Games competition, UAlbany added a 4-1 record over the March 1-3 weekend.
- After two weekends of play, graduate student Maddi Petrella leads with a .480 batting average from 12 hits, including five doubles and two home runs.
- Freshman Mary Kate Murray follows with a .435 batting average from 10 hits, including two doubles.
- Graduate student Caitlyn Mitros rounds out the active players with a 400+ batting average (.423) and double-digit hits (11).
- Graduate student Morgan Petty has hit for a team-high three home runs and 13 RBI.
- From the circle, graduate student Wendi Hammond has pitched four complete games with five starts. Totaling 25 strikeouts in 39.1 innings pitched, she owns a 5-3 record.
ABOUT FDU
- The Knights own a 6-7 record after two tournaments and three neutral games in New Jersey.
- Starting the season at the LaJolla Invitational in Riverside, California (Feb. 9-11), FDU tallied one win in five contests.
- Returning home to the East Coast, the Knights competed in three neutral games for two wins over Bucknell (Feb. 24-25) and Hofstra (Feb. 25).
- Most recently returning from Virginia, FDU went 2-3 at the HU/NSU Classic (Mar. 1-3).
- Abbey Hoesman leads the team with a .385 batting average from 10 hits, including four doubles.
- Celeste Quezada owns a team-high three RBI.
- Brooklyn Shroyer has spent the most time in the circle with seven starts and five complete games. Totaling 62 strikeouts in 44.0 innings pitched, she owns a 2.25 ERA.
PICKED FOURTH
- The Great Danes were picked to finish fourth in the 2024 America East Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- UAlbany tallied 14 points and no first-place votes.
- UMBC topped the poll with 23 points and four first-place votes while Binghamton followed closely with 22 points and two first-place votes.
- UMass Lowell sat just above UAlbany with 17 points.
- Maine (9) and Bryant (4) followed to close out the poll.
