How it Happened
- UAlbany got off to a hot start, jumping out to an 8-0 lead before forcing an NJIT timeout just two minutes in. Tyler Bertram started the game going 2-2 from beyond the arc.
- Bertram stayed hot, hitting his third three of the night shortly after the timeout. The Great Danes held a 16-10 edge when play stopped with 13:50 on the clock after Bertram pick-led up his fourth field goal of the night on a driving layup that drew a foul.
- The Great Danes pushed their lead to 29-21 with 6:09 remaining in the first half. Bertram led all scorers with 14 while Amar'e Marshall joined the action as a sharpshooter, going 2-2 from three.
- UAlbany used an 8-4 to push the lead to 37-25 with 2:44 on the clock. Muneer Newton con-tributed four points over the run, making himself a presence low in the paint.
- The Great Danes entered the locker room at the half up 41-28. UAlbany shot 50% (15-30) from the field in the first half, going 6-12 from deep. NJIT shot 34.5% (10-29) from the field and went 3-13 from deep.
- UAlbany out-rebounded NJIT in the first half, 20-15.
- NJIT was able to outscore UAlbany 10-9 at the start of the first half, shooting 57% from the field.
- Sebastian Thomas got into a rhythm in the second half, scoring eight of UAlbany's first 15 points. Help helped push the Great Danes lead to 56-40 eight minutes in.
