Short Story: UAlbany men's basketball team traveled to Boston University to take on the Terrier which resulted in the Great Danes falling in overtime 80-74.
Key Stats:
- DeMarr Langford Jr. led UAlbany with 14 points shooting 6-11 in 38 minutes and going 2-2 at the free throw line.
- Langford Jr. also led the Purple and Gold with seven rebounds (3 off-4 def).
- Kacper Klaczek shot 3-6 from beyond the arc while Amar'e Marshall and Amir Lindsey were 2-2 from three-point range.
- Byron Joshua picked up six assists with one block.
- Marshall was the Purple and Golds leader in steals with four.
- The Great Danes shot 27-61 (44.3%) from the field, 11-19 (57.9%) beyond the arc, and 9-12 (75.0) at the line.
How it Happened:
- The Terriers started off the game with a 6-0 run before the Great Danes shortened the deficit to 6-3 with 16:00 remaining in the first half.
- A combined six points from DeMarr Langford Jr. (4) and Amir Lindsey (2) would give UAlbany its first lead of the game 13-11 nine minutes into the game.
- Boston University jumped back out ahead 20-15 as the Great Danes and Terriers exchanged points, a layup from Byron Joshua and three from Lindsey helped make it a 22-20 game. With 6:01 to play in the first.
- Another three by Lindsey followed by a three from Kacper Klaczek at 1:56 made it a one-point game 28-27 before BU went on a 7-0 to close out the half and take a 35-27 lead.
- Kheni Briggs started off the half with a four-point play and another three followed by a free throw as UAlbany still trailed 38-34 four minutes into the half.
- Threes from Klaczek and Joshua helped UAlbany come back to tie the game 42-42 with 13:31 to play.
- A 9-0 run by the Great Danes led by Amar'e Marshall's seven points pushed the Purple and Gold ahead 51-45 at the halfway point of the second half.
- A three and layup by Joshua gave the Great Danes a 62-55 lead with 5:56 remaining.
- With under five minutes to go in the second half the Terriers would come to tie the game 64-64 with 1:09 to play.
- Both teams would exchange baskets with under a minute to play sending the game into overtime tied 66-66.
- Langford Jr. started off overtime with a layup to put the Great Danes ahead 68-66.
- As Boston U hit a three, Klaczek made a three of his own to Put UAlbany ahead 71-69.
- In the final two minutes of overtime the Terriers would outscore the Great Danes 11-3 and take away a 80-74 win.
