HOW IT HAPPENED
  • UAlbany came out strong with a 4-0 lead to start the match thanks to early kills by opposite hitter Kendall Harris and middle blocker Campbell Robinson.
  • The Highlanders gained momentum to take the lead at 11-11 UAlbany pulled away with a 7-3 run.
  • The Great Danes held steady in the final points and closed the set 25-19 after a kill by Harris.
  • UAlbany and NJIT traded points in set two staying even at 14 thanks to outside hitter Shynelle Woroniuk and opposite hitter Elisavet Papageorgiou keeping the offense aggressive.
  • The Highlanders gained a slight edge but the Great Danes took a one-point lead after a three-point scoring run to put the set at match-point.
  • UAlbany clinched the set 26-24 after a decisive block from Robinson and Woroniuk to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
  • NJIT took a three-point lead early in the third set and held onto it until it was 11-8.
  • The Purple and Gold responded with a six-point scoring run to take a three-point lead of their own and didn't let go of their momentum.
  • UAlbany comfortably closed the set at 25-20 with a powerful final kill from Robinson. This ended the match, 3-0.
