SHORT STORY: The Great Danes notched two goals in each half to lead to a 4-1 victory over Towson, Saturday afternoon.

KEY STATS
- Junior Alison Smisdom led with five points from two goals and one assist.
- Junior Isabella Del Vecchio tallied her first goal of the season.
- Sophomore Sophia Schoonmaker added a goal.
- Junior Blanca Orsola, graduate student Delphine Le Jeune, and freshman Mara Küskes each added an assist.
- Each of the first three goals was scored during a penalty corner.
- The Great Danes outshot the Tigers, 20-5, with a 15-4 advantage in shots on goal.
- Junior goalie Lara Behn stood in goal for the first three quarters to leave Towson scoreless throughout 45 minutes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes opened the contest with a penalty corner within the first two minutes of action.
- On their fifth corner of the quarter, UAlbany scored its first goal. Using a stick stop from Blanca Orsola and an insert from Delphine Le Jeune, Alison Smisdom hammered the ball into the goal with 3:11 on the clock.
- Just over six minutes into the second quarter, the Great Danes added their second goal during a penalty corner.
- Going for a shot from the side of the circle, Mara Küskes inserted the ball directly to Smisdom for the goal.
- The Great Dane defense held the Tigers to zero shots throughout the first half.
- Adding two goals in seven minutes, UAlbany extended their lead to four in the third quarter.
- Just over two minutes into the second half, Sophia Schoonmaker took the ball off a rebounded shot and sent it into the goal.
- About halfway through the quarter, Isabella Del Vecchio scored her first of the season. After Smisdom intercepted a pass at about the 25-yard line, she dribbled to the endline. Del Vecchio received a pass from Smisdom and redirected the ball towards and into the net.
- With 3:09 on the fourth-quarter clock, Towson closed out the game with a penalty corner goal.
NEXT: The Great Danes will make a stop at Drexel on their way back to Albany for a Sunday afternoon contest.
