GREAT DANE REWIND
- UAlbany opened the 2023 season in Conway, South Carolina at the Chanticleer Showdown (Feb. 24-26) before heading to the Spring Games at Madeira Beach (Mar. 3-5).
- In a slow start to the season, the Great Danes tallied a 1-4 record at Coastal Carolina. Earning a win over Mount St. Mary's (2.25), UAlbany fell twice to host Coastal Carolina and Saint Joseph's.
- At the Spring Games, the Great Danes worked for two shutout wins over LIU (3.3) and Georgetown (3.4) but fell to Southeastern Louisiana (3.3), Creighton (3.4), and MTSU (3.5).
- In their final tournament of the season (Mar. 18-19), UAlbany went 2-1 with wins over Lafayette and a loss to the host, Mount St. Mary's.
- Returning home, the Great Danes hosted Siena (3.22) for a doubleheader sweep.
- UAlbany opened conference play with a doubleheader sweep over UMass Lowell (3.26) before splitting a doubleheader at Maine (3.31)
- ??Most recently, UAlbany split a midweek doubleheader at Army (4.5).
AT THE PLATE
- Freshman Sara Anderson leads the Great Danes with a .436 batting average.
- Starting all 21 games, senior Morgan Petty owns a team-high 27 hits, including two home runs and four doubles for 16 RBI, to follow closely with a .386 batting average.
- Junior Jordan Nastos leads with three home runs, five doubles, and 18 RBI from 24 hits.
- In addition to Nastos and Petty, sophomore Sierra Fretz and senior Maddi Petrella have totaled two homers each.
- Three Great Danes have totaled at least one double, one triple, and one home run - Petty (four 2B, one 3B, and two HR), Petrella (one 2B, one 3B, and two HR), and Fretz (three 2B, one 3B, and two HR).
- Seniors Caitlyn Mitros and Wendi Hammond have added one triple each while freshman Deanna Grahek (3), graduate student Chloe Lewis (2), and senior Schuyler Ossman (2) own multiple doubles with their respective totals.
IN THE FIELD
- Chloe Lewis leads the defense with 94 putouts.
- Jordan Nastos leads with 38 assists with Deanna Grahek close behind (33 assists).
- Eight Great Danes have contributed to at least one double-play. Grahek leads with seven and Lewis follows with six. Jordan Nastos has four and Sierra Fretz has three, while Maddi Petrella, Wendi Hammond, Sara Anderon, and sophomore Christie Collins have tallied one each.
- All five Great Dane pitchers have seen the circle for at least three innings.
- Wendi Hammond has seen the most time with 77.0 innings pitched and 38 strikeouts. She has pitched eight complete games, including two shutouts, with 12 starts for a 2.82 ERA and a 7-5 record in the circle.
- Redshirt-sophomore Kate Powers saw her first collegiate no-hitter in a six-inning victory over Maine. In total, she has pitched 28.2 innings with 19 strikeouts in two complete games for a 3-1 record in the circle.
- Sophomore Amelia Freitas has totaled two starts while pitching 19.0 innings for a 1-2 record in the circle.
- Lewis and senior Adian Sheeren have a combined 12.1 IP and six strikeouts.

ABOUT BINGHAMTON
- The Bearcats at 15-111 on the season with a 2-3 conference record.
- Starting the season 1-4 at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament (Feb. 10-12), Binghamton evened out their record with four wins and one loss at the Furman Tournament (Feb. 17-19).
- In their final tournament, the Bearcats added four wins at the Hampton and Norfolk State Tournament (Mar. 4-5).
- After falling in a doubleheader at George Mason (3.11), Binghamton tallied five-straight wins with doubleheader sweeps over George Mason (3.12) and Maine (3.26) and a single game at Cornell (3.28).
- Most recently, the Bearcats split a doubleheader at Siena (4.6) after falling in all three games at UMBC (Apr. 1-2).
- Lindsey Walter leads with a .484 batting average, from 31 hits, and 19 runs.
- Brianna Santos owns a team-high 23 RBI while Alli Richmond leads with three home runs and Sarah Rende leads with seven doubles.
- In the circle, Brianna Roberts leads with almost twice as many innings pitched as the pitcher behind her. Seeing the circle for 61.2 innings, she has totaled 60 strikeouts, three complete games, two saves, one shutout, and 11 starts with a 5-2 record and a 2.84 ERA.
- Sophia Pappas (49 K, 36.2 IP) and Allison L'Amoreaux (30 K, 27.0 IP) follow with their respective stats.
- In the field, Hailey Ehlers owns a team-high 135 putouts and Akira Kopec leads with 33 assists. Richmond follows closely with 31 assists.
- As a team, the Bearcats have notched five double plays.
SERIES AGAINST THE BEARCATS
- The Great Danes lead the Division I series, 49-12.
- Most recently, the Great Danes swept a midweek doubleheader over Binghamton on April 13, 2022.
- UAlbany opened up game one with a two-run homer from Morgan Petty. After Binghamton tied the score at two in the fifth inning, the Great Danes added three runs in the sixth to earn the 5-2 victory.
- The Great Danes notched a 10-run five-inning victory for game two. After going up, 7-0, in the first inning, UAlbany added one run in the third and four runs in the fourth for the final 12-2 win.
PICKED THIRD
- The Great Danes were picked to finish third in the 2023 America East Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- UAlbany tallied 17 points and no first-place votes.
- UMBC topped the poll with 35 points and five first-place votes while UMass Lowell followed with 20 points and one first-place vote.
- Binghamton, with 16 points, grabbed the final first-place vote. Bryant and Maine tied for fifth with seven points.
AROUND THE AMERICA EAST
- After two weekends of conference play, one team remains undefeated with a 5-0 record - UMBC.
- UAlbany follows as the only remaining team with a winning conference record - 3-1.
- Binghamton and UMass Lowell are tied with two wins in five America East games.
- Maine and Bryant have one win but the Black Bears hold the slight edge with three losses to the Bulldogs' four.
