LOCATION: Alumni Turf - Albany, N.Y.

RECORDS: UAlbany 6-2, 1-0 America East | California 1-6, 0-1 America East

SHORT STORY: Led by graduate student Luisa Knapp, the Great Danes defeated California, 5-1, to open America East play, Friday.

COACH PHIL SYKES: "Our first America East Conference game is always tricky no matter who you play because you know the value of a win in-conference. California is a very good team even though their record is not where they want it to be. So far, each game against them has been a challenging one so I am very proud of our team. I thought we played a full 60 minutes today and all aspects of play were very solid. Hopefully, we can keep moving forward with the energy."
