Head Coach Trevor Gorman: "It's always a big challenge to play teams away from home. For 55 minutes we did a good job of executing and finding our moments in the game. Unfortunately, these teams demand a high level constantly and Rutgers got quick goals that really gave them momentum. These games can only make you better and will prepare us for conference play."

How it Happened
- In the 24th minute, Saad Faiz scored to put UAlbany up 1-0. It was his first goal of the season, and the Great Danes' first of the season from the field, having scored each of their three previous goals by penalty kick.
- Rutgers outshot UAlbany 12-3 in the first half, taking five shots in the first seven minutes, but the Great Danes still held the advantage after 45 minutes. UAlbany's defense blocked four of Rutgers' first five shots before the ball could even reach goalkeeper Daniel Shannon.
- The Scarlet Knights got on the board in the 58th minute when Jackson Temple scored to tie the game at one. In the 60th, Temple scored again to give Rutgers a 2-1 lead.
- Rutgers scored twice more in another quick sequence, in the 73rd and the 75th with goals from MD Myers and Ola Maeland to go up 4-1.
- Rutgers scored one final time in the closing minutes, when Bryan Keating found the back of the net to put the Scarlet Knights up 5-1. Rutgers continued to outshoot UAlbany 13-3 in the second half, but the Great Danes earned four second-half corner kicks to Rutgers' two, after going through the first half without such an opportunity.Â
Next: UAlbany hosts Dartmouth on September 17.
