UAlbany (10-17), UMBC (10-17), and Hartford (8-19) come into the final weekend all battling for the final two spots in the America East Tournament, hosted by Maine. UMBC will take on Binghamton at home this weekend, while Hartford will host first-place Maine.

Last Time Out
This past weekend, the Great Danes took one of three games on the road against America East top seed Maine. The team fell 2-4 on Friday and 5-7 on Saturday in two hard-fought games before taking the final game of the series on Sunday, 10-5.

Brad Malm led the offense throughout the weekend, batting .538 and collecting five RBIs on seven hits. The America East home run leader added one more to his resume over the weekend to retain the conference lead.

Jason Bottari batter .333 with four hits and five stolen bases.

Connor Eisenmann collected the win for UAlbany on Sunday. Eisenmann went 6.0 innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.
Nicholas Jessen notched a 3.38 ERA on the weekend in relief, tossing 5.1 innings while allowing just two earned runs on four hits.
Cregg Scherrer fanned nine batters in his 6.2 innings of work.

The River Hawks sit in second place in the America East Division A, having already clinched a spot in the conference tournament. The team sits with a mark of 23-27, having gone 13-14 in conference play.

This past weekend, the River Hawks took two of three games against Hartford to win their third-straight series. UMass Lowell took game one by a score of 14-9, dropped game two by a score of 6-9, and clinched the series with a 6-2 win on Sunday. The River Hawks added a midweek non-conference game to the schedule on May 17, falling 3-4 at home against Northeastern in 12 innings.

Jacob Humphrey leads the team with a .346 batting average, 49 runs scored, 34 walks, and an America East leading 44 stolen bags. Gary Siracusa leads the team with 59 RBIs and 10 home runs. LJ Keevan has tossed 70.0 innings for the River Hawks and comes into the weekend with a 4.50 ERA.
Around the America EastÂ
The America East is split up into two divisions. UAlbany competes in Division A along with Hartford, Maine and UMass Lowell. Binghamton, NJIT, Stony Brook and UMBC are assigned to Division B. After nine weekends of conference play, Maine (21-6) leads Division A. UMass Lowell holds a 13-14 record, placing second ahead of UAlbany with a 10-17 record. Hartford sits in fourth place, having gone 8-19. In Division B, Stony Brook leads the way with a 19-8 record. NJIT ranks second with a 14-13 record and Binghamton is third with a 13-14 record. UMBC closes out the table, holding a record of 10-17.

2022 America East Preseason Poll
The UAlbany baseball team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2022 America East Coaches' Poll. The Great Danes earned 34 points in the annual poll, finishing ahead of Maine (27 points), UMass Lowell (18 points), UMBC (12 points) and Hartford (10 points). Stony Brook, 2021 regular-season champions and tournament finalist, was selected first, receiving 46 points and four first-place votes. Close behind, NJIT earned three first-place votes and a total of 40 points. Binghamton came in third with 37 points and a single first-place vote. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team.
