Last Time Out
This past weekend, the Great Danes won its series opener against Hartford by a score of 15-1, but dropped games two and three 1-5 and 11-12, respectively. On Friday, UAlbany showed a dominant performance, allowing just one run that came in the final inning. The scoring started in the opening inning when John Daly hit a solo home run to make it 1-0. The Great Danes extended their lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the third. Three players singled to combine for five runs, Johnny Marti hit a one-run single, and Michael Whalen and Josh Loeffler both hit two-RBI singles. Three more runs followed in the fifth, the seventh and the eighth. In the fifth, Loeffler drove in Will Feil on a groundout and Carson Dunkel hit a two-run home run, also scoring Jason Bottari. In the seventh, Daly was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Additionally, Will Binder was able to cross home on a passed ball and Brad Malm scored on a sac fly by Marti. Finally, in the eighth, Dunkel hit an RBI single, Loeffler scored on a wild pitch and Malm hit a sac fly to knock in Dunkel.

Marti followed with a three-run homer to make it 11-4. However, the Hawks responded with a three-run seventh and a five-run eighth to take a one-run lead and secure the series win.
