HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Highlanders quickly earned a 3-1 lead before extending it to a 6-2 advantage in the first set.
- After the Great Danes tied the score at six with four unanswered points, NJIT worked to take their lead back, 15-11.
- A second scoring run put UAlbany within one, 15-14, but the Highlanders grabbed three unanswered points before finishing the set with five-straight points.
- The Great Danes worked for the first multi-point lead, 8-6, in the second set.
- With five unanswered points, NJIT gained the advantage, 12-9.
- After UAlbany tied the score at 14, the scoring remained close through much of the latter half of the set.
- The Highlanders grabbed the win with a 4-1 scoring run to finish the second set, 25-21.
- In the final set, NJIT notched an 8-4 advantage with two scoring runs.
- UAlbany closed the Highlanders' lead but a third scoring run made it 13-9 in NJIT's favor.
- The Highlanders added a fourth scoring run in the third set before taking the set, 25-18, and the match, 3-0.
