SHORT STORY: The Great Danes defeated crosstown rival, Siena, 3-0, for their midweek match, Wednesday night.

COACH JOSH PICKARD: "It was great to be back at home after a couple of weeks on the road. Siena put up a great fight and made us earn every set win. We were happy to have a great crowd who supported our school supplies night with an abundance of donations. We are looking forward and excited to get into our America East play this weekend!"

KEY STATS
- Junior Kamara Kelly led the offense with 17 kills and the defense with 13 digs.Â
- Junior Malea Stanton and freshman Elaina Wamhoff shared the setter's spotlight. Wamhoff held the slight lead with 17 assists while Stanton tallied 16.
- On the serve, senior Charlotte Macken owned three of the Great Danes' four service aces.
- Freshman Anissia Wong owned a team-high two solo blocks but graduate student Danielle Tedesco led the team with six total blocks as well as a .727 hitting percentage.
- Macken and Wamhoff also tallied double-digit digs. Macken closely followed Kelly with 12 while Wamhoff totaled 10 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAlbany opened the first set with a kill by Kamara Kelly, before earning a 5-4 advantage over the Saints.
- Siena eventually tied up the match at 20-20.
- UAlbany was victorious at the finish of the first match, scoring 27-25, with a block from Grace Cozad and Danielle Tedesco.
- The Great Danes opened the second set with a kill from Oren Abutbul.
- It was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams ending the second set at a close 25-23. Grace Cozad scored the set-winning point with a kill.
- Siena dominated UAlbany to begin the third set, 4-0.
- UAlbany fought their way back to tie it up at 5-5, with a five-point run served by senior Charlotte Macken.
- The Great Danes, with a block by Anissia Wong and Kamara Kelly tied up the final set 21-21.
- UAlbany won the third set scoring a nail-biting, 26-24, for another close set against the Saints.
- The Great Danes took the match with three sets decided by two points.
