HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter started with a lot of midfield play between the Nittany Lions and the Great Danes but in the last minute of the quarter, No. 9 Penn State scored its first goal.
- The second quarter saw more action in the circles, including UAlbany's first shot from freshman Floor de Ruiter. The Nittany Lions earned two corners, tallying their second goal during the second.
- Heading into the second half down, 2-0, the Great Danes fought offensively, earning their first corner in the eighth minute.
- UAlbany created a scoring opportunity with three freshmen combining for a goal during the corner. Floor de Ruiter scored with an assist from Alison Smisdom and Blanca Orsola.
- The Nittany Lions closed the game with a third goal in the final quarter of the game.
