th place out of 16 teams at the Georgia State Invitational at the Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Ga. Freshman
Amber Thornton led the way after finishing the invitational with a round three score of 69, three strokes under par.
Key Notes:
- The Invitational was broken into two days, with 36 holes being played on day one and an additional 18 being played on day two.
- Amber Thornton led the way for UAlbany, shooting 79-79-69 over three rounds. Her round three score of 69 was one of the lowest scores of the entire invitational. A score of 69 or lower was achieved only seven times amongst 85+ golfers, all playing three rounds each. Thornton, a freshman, started the final round tied for 59th place before rallying to finish tied for 24th place, only 11 strokes over par.
- Megan Henry finished tied for 64th place after shooting 78-82-78. The graduate student recorded five birdies over the two-day tournament, finishing 22 strokes above par.
- Madison Walker and Pasqualina Tartaglione finished one stroke apart, with Walker finishing +24 and Tartaglione finishing +25. Walker shot 83-78-79 over three rounds to finish in a tie for 69th place. Tartaglione shot 82-76-83 to finish in a tie for 71st.
- Maddie Campos had had a great end to her trip, shooting a 75 in her third round – second on the team only to Thornton. Her three-day score came in at 90-81-75 for a final of +30, tied for 83rd place.
